Carol King

During perimenopause, long before I even knew what perimenopause was I remember attempting to relay to my GP how I was feeling. I told him I felt like I was observing myself in the third person.

I could literally see myself behaving in an absurd, angry, nonsensical manner that I absolutely knew to be uncalled for, yet I could not stop this “other me” from behaving that way.

I no longer knew who I was, really. Was I the doer or the observer.

Both felt very real but yet one had no control over the other.
